How the seed of The Wild Tree was sown.
Hi, my name is Suzie and I planted The Wild Tree.
I’m not what you would consider a traditional ‘eco warrior’, but a parent, like millions of us, with a vested interest in helping to protect the future of the planet for our children and future generations.
I live in a picturesque village in Warwickshire with my teenage daughter and my Schnoodle dog. Whilst out walking with my family, I started to notice more and more discarded plastic waste littering our country roads, woodlands and waterways.
The shock of seeing the extent of this problem so close to home made me begin to look for plastic free alternatives to every day household items. I realised that simple low cost changes like a bamboo toothbrush or bamboo cotton buds and the more obvious change to re-useable cups, bottles and bags will not only have a huge environmental benefit but will also save us money in the long run. It’s a no brainer!
The more people I spoke to, the more it became apparent to me that most of us want to play a part in tackling this widespread epidemic but don’t quite know where to start.
Spurred on by mine and others’ enthusiasm, I spent many a late night researching and sourcing products that were either sustainable, plastic free, compostable, biodegradable, recycled, upcycled, vegan …. or any combination of those qualities.
With my newfound knowledge and passion to do ‘my bit’ and spread the word, the seed of the The Wild Tree was sown.
Stylish sustainable shopping that’s not costing the earth
We offer reasonably priced yet contemporary and stylish alternatives to the every day items you may have assumed are only available in plastic until now. Once your eyes are opened to the options it’s incredible how easy it can be to start to make a difference.
Everyone has a checklist before they leave the home: keys, money, glasses …. and now I include reusable bags, bottles, coffee cups etc. It’s very easy to ‘unlearn’ our bad habits and replace them with new routines.
No change of importance happens overnight and it’s impractical right now to believe that we can live totally without plastic. What we can believe in and contribute to is helping to eliminate single use plastic. It’s all about taking ‘baby steps’ and not costing the earth (literally!).
All our products sold through The Wild Tree are delivered in recyclable packaging and sealed with paper tape so we won’t undo your good work when getting our lovely items to you.
Lots of people are talking the talk but with so many gorgeous products and gifts available through The Wild Tree, you can now easily find a solution to the pollution!
